Highlight of the week?
Kicking Down Doors
One of my fave quotes in Loves Does by Bob Goff in LOVE DOES is:
“I USED TO THINK THAT GOD GUIDED US BY OPENING AND CLOSING DOORS, BUT NOW I KNOW SOMETIMES GOD WANTS US TO KICK SOME DOORS DOWN
Usually, I’d attribute a quote like this to new business or academic opportunity or some great legacy-building-bossbabe move. In the book, Bob is talking about being determined to get into law school after failing his exams.
BUT if you’re in lockdown right now, like me, you may need to apply the sentiment of this quote to some BASIC everyday stuff. You may have to be willing to KICK AND FIGHT your way out of:
• feelings of Depression
• feelings of Boredom
• feelings of Fear
• feelings of Loneliness
• feelings of Abandonment
• feelings of Being Stuck
It might take effort to kick down doors and enter a space with:
• an attitude of GRATITUDE
• the pleasure of JOY
• a vision of HOPE
• the evidence of FAITH
• good MENTAL HEALTH
I’m not sure what taking action looks like for you. For me today it was enjoying an hour-long walk on my own, in the sunny breeze. It did wonders for my skin, my mind, and mood.
“A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones” – The Bible
I know which one I want to be.
